United's 2009 Champions League winning side face off against a Carrick all-star XI.Jacqui Oatley presents live coverage of Micheal Carrick,s testimonial match at Old Trafford,with commentary from Sam Matterface.A stellar cast of former players will be on show for Carrick,s testimonial to mark his eleven players service with Manchester United.Carrick will line up in a United 2009 team,managed by Sir Alex Ferguson - alongside greats such as Ryan Giggs,Paul Scholes,Rio Ferdinand,Gary Neville and Patrice Evra - to take on an all-star team featuring the likes of Steven Gerrard,Frank Lampard,Jamie Carragher,John Terry,and Micheal Owen.All the profits from the game will go to Carrick,s foundation which helps fund community-based projects for children.The Wellstand-born player began his carrer at West Ham United,joining the team in 1998 and winning the FA Youth Cup two years later.He experienced relegation in the 2003-04 season and was voted into the PFA First Division Team of the Year the following year.He made more than 150 appearances for the Hammers,but in 2005,he moved to rival London club Tottenham Hotspur for a fee belived to be £3.5 million.He scored twice in 75 appearances,before moving to Manchester United in 2007 for £18 million.Micheal has also won 34 England caps,and has been a member of the England squads for two major tournaments,the 2007 and 2011 World Cups.
