Starring Jack Dee as Steve and Kerry Godliman as his wife Nicky, they play a married couple who are both on their second marriages and have decided that moving to the countryside from the city is the answer to all their dreams.
They’ve watched all the TV relocation shows and read the glossy lifestyle magazines and fell in love with the idea of ‘getting away from the rat race’.
Unfortunately living a simple existence in beautiful surroundings is not all it’s cracked up to be and Steve and Nicky soon find living in the countryside might not be for them after all. Especially when they discover that the house they’ve bought is situated in what locals refer to as ‘In’t Dip’ – a place where internet signals cannot reach, but floodwater most definitely can.
Thanks to unscrupulous estate agents, architects and builders squeezing more money out of the couple, they find themselves in a financial situation that means there is no going back.
The couple must put on a brave face as the last thing they want is for all their friends back in the city to be proven right after they all said it was a ‘bad move’.
When Nicky and Steve discover that their kitchen has flooded, they have to call on Nicky’s Dad for help.
The ever-unimpressed Ken duly arrives with a pump - but Steve is convinced that the source of the flooding could be a natural spring. He hopes that this will prove to be the answer to all their problems.
Nicky, meanwhile, takes a more practical approach to their finances and decides to earn some money by walking a villager’s dog.
But when the locally based rock star Grizzo turns up with some alarming news, it’s not just Nicky’s job that might be at risk.
When Nicky and Steve discover their kitchen has flooded, Steve think the source of the flooding is a natural spring and hopes it will be the answer to all their problems.
Filmed in the picturesque North York Moors, Bad Move is a family comedy set in the most stunning countryside location, where their nearest neighbours Matt (Miles Jupp) and Meena (Manjinder Virk) annoyingly make it all look so easy. Other villagers include Grizzo (Seann Walsh) - a rock star that needs village life to keep him grounded , Ken (Philip Jackson) - Steve’s no-nonsense disapproving father in-law, and Shannon (Sue Vincent) - the local shopkeeper.
Bad Move is a new single camera scripted comedy for TV3 by Open Mike Productions written by Jack Dee and Pete Sinclair.

But Steve isn’t getting much sleep anyway - his web design business is losing customers hand over fist to a rival firm. And just to rub it in, Matt and Meena’s latest business venture is going from strength to strength.
When they ask Steve for some free advice on designing a website he is not impressed. But that’s nothing to his reaction when Nicky manages to land him with a work experience boy from the local village – the dreaded Bronson.Shut Up: Sitcom. Martin Clunes returns to play the nation’s favourite grumpy medic in a brand new series of Doc Martin for TV3.
He stars as Dr. Martin Ellingham, the GP with a brusque bedside manner and a phobia of blood, in eight new episodes of the hugely successful drama produced by Buffalo Pictures and set in the idyllic hamlet of Portwenn in Cornwall.
Picturesque Port Isaac provides the beautiful backdrop for the popular series, with all regular members of the cast reprising their roles alongside guest stars Art Malik, Caroline Quentin and Sigourney Weaver.
Caroline Catz plays Doc Martin’s wife and local school headmistress, Louisa Ellingham. Dame Eileen Atkins plays Doc Martin’s formidable Aunt Ruth, with Ian McNeice as Bert Large and Joe Absolom as his son Al. John Marquez is back as Portwenn PC Joe Penhale, with Jessica Ransom as the Doc’s receptionist, Morwenna Newcross, and Selina Cadell as pharmacist Mrs Tishell.Having worked as missionaries in Kenya, Morwenna’s parents, Jack (Kevin Doyle) and Tara Newcross (Rebecca Lacey), pay her a surprise visit, and are surprised by the relationship between her and Al. Morwenna is shocked to discover the real reason for her parents’ return is that Tara has cancer. She has decided against treatment because of her faith. Both Morwenna and Martin think this is a foolish decision.
Louisa’s first Skype call for her new course doesn’t go as planned when Martin decides to tell the lecturer his thoughts on the coursework.
There has also been a break-in at the school. The thief doesn’t appear to have stolen anything - but has torn up photographs. Initially Louisa suspects it is vandalism, but Penhale isn’t so sure. When it happens again, this time at the Lifeboat Station, Penhale is able to piece together, with the help of Louisa, that Dan Willis (Ethan Lawrence), a former pupil, is the face being torn out of the photographs.
With the help of Dan’s mum, Andrea (Christabel Muir) Penhale decides to set a trap to catch him by placing a photograph in the local shop window. Martin asks Ruth for advice when it becomes apparent that Dan has stopped taking his antipsychotic medication and could be having a breakdown.
Morwenna convinces Jack to give Martin Tara’s doctor’s information, when Martin suspects she has been wrongly diagnosed. His suspicions are proved correct when he diagnoses her with Hydatid Disease. Both Tara and Jack believe it is a miracle.
Caitlin (Angela Curran) seems to be after more than just a hand from Bert at the shop, so he decides to ask Al if he can stay at the pub but Al won’t relent. Unwanted lodgers are also a problem for Martin and Louisa: Martin thinks that Buddy’s days as a family pet are numbered, especially when he appears to have made a friend, Bob, who wants to move in too.
